Basic Certificate Information
The Graduate Certificate in Intelligence Studies is a 12-semester-credit-hour program designed to prepare individuals from a broad range of academic disciplines for a career in the Intelligence Community. Individuals with business, foreign language, social science, computer science, criminal science, engineering or statistics backgrounds will benefit from this professional certificate.
Individuals completing this certificate will gain a practical and hands-on knowledge of methods in intelligence collection, intelligence analysis, and reporting and briefing for the intelligence community. See the College of Business Critical Technology Studies Program website for more information.
|General University Requirements||Must meet certificate program regulations.
|Application||A completed Graduate School application, unless currently enrolled as a degree-seeking graduate student.|
|Transcripts||Official transcripts from all institutions attended. All international transcripts must be recorded in English or officially translated to English.|
|Resume or Curriculum Vitae||Not required.|
|Letters of Recommendation||Not required.|
|Statement of Purpose||The Statement of Purpose should describe your academic and other qualifications to be admitted to this program, areas of interest in the program, and goals related to pursuing the Graduate Certificate in Intelligence Studies. The statement should be 500-750 words long.|
|Test Scores||Not required.|
|Evaluation of Foreign Credentials||All applicants including non-U.S. citizens (International), U.S. citizens (Domestic), or permanent residents who have earned university-level credit from foreign institutions are required to submit an evaluation from an approved Foreign Credential Agency of transcripts from all foreign institutions attended. If official transcripts are used in the foreign credential evaluation, the official transcript requirement will be considered met. However, if unofficial documents are used in the foreign credential evaluation, final official transcripts must be sent to UTSA.
