Description
Successful interviews are conversations—not interrogations. In this interactive session, graduate students will learn strategies for creating meaningful dialogue with interviewers by actively listening, asking thoughtful questions, and building on the conversation rather than simply responding to a list of questions. Participants will explore techniques for transitioning between topics, highlighting relevant experiences naturally, and demonstrating genuine interest in both the role and the organization. The session will also examine how effective communication can strengthen rapport, reveal a candidate's critical thinking and interpersonal skills, and help determine whether a position is the right fit. Through practical examples and interview scenarios, students will gain confidence in engaging interviewers in authentic, professional conversations that leave a lasting impression.
