Postdoctoral Affairs

The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs is committed to providing assistance to our postdoctoral fellows and their research mentors. It supports an environment for research, discovery and learning, scholarly activities, intellectual and creative endeavors, as well as public service and community engagement. Although housed within The Graduate School, UTSA’s Office of Postdoctoral Affairs is a collaboration between The Graduate School, Academic Affairs, and the Office of Research, Economic Development and Knowledge Enterprise.

Graduate School Research Days

An inaugural event has been created for Fall Semester of 2020: Graduate School Research Days. The event brings together The Three Minute Thesis, Posters & Pints, Building a Professional Image, a Reception Gala and more! 3MT® Research Competition

3MT® is a competition that provides graduate students the opportunity to showcase their scholarly work or research in three minutes or less. Additionally, 3MT® provides a great opportunity for presenters to develop communication skills, showcase their work with the San Antonio community, as well as initiate new collaborations and networks. More importantly, there are cash prizes!

GPS Micro-credentialing

Graduate and postdoctoral training at UTSA is predicated on the development of a set of interconnected skills and competencies that lead to academic and career success. To this end, The UTSA Graduate School provides competency-based professional development opportunities. To assist graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in tracking their skills acquisition, The Graduate School offers credentials or "badges" for achieving competencies delivered through various experiences.
