The UT San Antonio Graduate School oversees the selection of various scholarships for graduate students in a range of disciplines. Additionally, academic colleges offer scholarship support and graduate students can apply to multiple university-wide scholarships through the UT San Antonio Scholarship Hub.
Fellowship Incentive Program
To encourage a culture in which UT San Antonio graduate students and their mentors prepare and submit competitive applications for national programs, and to underscore the value of these fellowships, we are pleased to offer the Graduate School Fellowship Incentive Program.
The Graduate School will award monetary incentives to students and their mentors who prepare and submit applications in response to a variety of approved fellowship opportunities that offer students stipends of at least $18,000 annually for two or more years. Students and mentors will receive a $1,000 incentive from the Graduate School. Learn more on the Fellowship Incentive Program page.

CONTEX-SECHITI Fellowship
La Secretaría de Ciencia, Humanidades, Tecnología e Innovación (Secihti) offers fellowships for up to five years for Mexican citizens pursuing doctoral degrees abroad in priority science and humanities fields. The program provides support for tuition, monthly living expenses and support for health insurance and expenditures. Applicants must be admitted to or enrolled in a full-time, in-person doctoral program at one of the UT System institutions.
Eligibility:
- Mexican nationals admitted to or enrolled in eligible doctoral programs in SECIHTI priority fields at a UT System institution

Texas Leadership Research Scholars Program (TLRS)
The Texas Leadership Research Scholars Program is a state-funded research scholarship and leadership opportunity program for high-achieving doctoral students to attend Texas public research and emerging research universities supported by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB). This scholarship aims to assist students who demonstrate academic excellence and a strong commitment to leadership and community impact. TLRS also provides doctoral students with access to a network of peers, mentoring, and professional development. TLRS empowers scholars to reach their full potential and drive meaningful change in their fields and communities.
- Research scholar receives the scholarship awarded under the program for four years so long as the scholar maintains eligibility.
Eligibility:
- Accepted into a doctoral program at UT San Antonio for the fall 2026 semester
- Be enrolled full-time in a doctoral degree program
- Graduate of a Texas public high school within the last 10 years, including an open enrollment charter school, or graduate with your bachelor’s or master’s degree from a Texas institution
- Demonstrate financial need by having submitted a FAFSA
- Have current FAFSA by the application deadline, April 15, 2026
- Evidence of leadership and service within your university and community
- Be nominated by the institution of higher education based on merit and leadership potential

Stay Rowdy Scholarship
The Stay Rowdy Scholarship is a retention scholarship that provides financial assistance to eligible master's students with outstanding tuition balances that may hinder their ability to enroll in upcoming semesters. The scholarship helps students overcome financial obstacles and remain on track toward completing their degree.
Due to limited funding, students are selected through a targeted outreach process and invited to submit a brief application for consideration. A scholarship committee reviews applications and selects recipients. Scholarship awards are available for up to $1,500 per student.
Eligibility:
- Priority is given to students whose enrollment and progress toward degree completion may be affected by outstanding tuition balances.
